I'm so happy my kids actually clean their room by temselves. Even when I'm not asking for it, can you imagine! I started to give them responsibilities at a young age, and now it pays off. What a great feeling.

J. is too young yet for spring cleaning (9 months), so nope on the getting him involved. He also doesn't have a room yet (he lives in a crib in the dining room)! I laughed at the boys clothes being so much cuter - I HATE buying clothes for J. I mean, most of the clothes I still think are HIDEOUS. I find it seriously frustrating. Guess I'd have been really outta luck thirty years ago, huh?

Toys and stuffed animals have always been a problem at our house. Why organize when there are just too many?! I am with you on the less is more. Back in April I posted the Toy Experiment on that very subject. http://overcomingbusy.com/2009/04/14/the-great-toy-experiment/ What I found at the end of the experiment is that kids don't even need the toys they have to be happy. My kids are actually happier with less. And that make organizing kids rooms so much easier!

Marci’s last blog post...Boring housework

[...] As mentioned in the e-book, do what you can to get your kids involved in this process today. Help them experience, hands-on, the value of getting rid of needless clutter, and of giving to those less fortunate. Mandi has some great tips on how to involve your kids in the organizing and decluttering process.
